Virtual fNIRS Training Course 2021

25th January - 5th February, 2021

10 am EST / 4 pm CET

NIRx is pleased to announce a two week, virtual training course on functional near-infrared spectroscopy (fNIRS). The event will be completely virtual and will give attendees a thorough understanding of how to run a successful fNIRS experiment from start to finish; selecting hypotheses and designing experiments, to analyzing results and publishing.  Attendees will have access to lectures from experts in the field, as well as tutorials from NIRx support staff. NIRx will provide resources (recorded videos, webinars, etc.) leading up to the workshop; these resources will address background knowledge considerations. New resources to enhance learning experimental and montage design will be made available during the course. Find out more information, and register via Eventbrite here.

*We offer an exclusive fee waiver for ISSP attendees. Fill in this form*

Short channels analysis in the AnalyzIR toolbox

With Dr. Hendrik Santosa

19th January, 2021 - 10 am EST / 4 pm CET

In this webinar, Dr. Santosa will quantitatively compare the performance of several techniques in fNIRS analysis including spatial and temporal filtering, regression, component analysis, and the use of short-separation measurements as the part of the AnalyzIR toolbox. Dr. Santosa is a research instructor in the Department of Radiology at the University of Pittsburgh. His research interest includes statistical method, brain-computer interface, hyperscanning, advance brain signal processing, and multimodal neuroimaging techniques. Register for the webinar here.

fNIRS in a different light: a webinar

With Dr. Felipe Orihuela-Espina

18th February, 2021 - 9 am EST / 3 pm CET

Part narrative, part mathematics, this webinar is about uniqueness of Dr. Orihuela-Espina’s research in fNIRS. He will review some of his research in fNIRS analysis and interpretation, with computational approaches unorthodox to the field. This will be in the context of three peculiarities; a computer science background, research in a developing country, and unconventional research interests. We shall visit the beauty of manifolds, explore different theories of causal analysis, and envision the automation of our research analysis pipelines by means of knowledge representation. Register for the webinar here.

Publications

NIRx has established itself as a leading provider of speech production research solutions for near-infrared spectroscopy (NIRS). See what our customers are publishing by visiting this page.

New Aurora Release

In July 2020, the NIRx software platform became a complete and integrated fNIRS research solution, from montage design to data acquisition and data review. In addition to the standard MNI adult head model, several infant head models have been included for montage design and realtime data visualization. Furthermore, to allow for an overall improved data recording workflow, the automatic signal optimization has been made much faster and an offline data review mode has been added.

We believe that these additions on top of the already existing features (e.g., hyperscanning, multi-device support, WiFi/USB/stand-alone modes, full LSL support and multiple 2D and 3D views) make Aurora fNIRS the most powerful and easy to use fNIRS acquisition software on the market.

Of course, this new release is free for our users. Do not hesitate to book us for a live tour of our new features.
